Trouble Using Kleopatra with Multiple Keys – I want Help

Hey everyone,

I started using Gpg4win to handle my encryption & key management but I am hitting a bit of a wall when it comes to using multiple key pairs. I have got one key for personal use and another for some work-related stuff but I can not seem to figure out how to switch between them easily when signing or encrypting files. It keeps defaulting to just one of them & I am not sure how to change that without manually adjusting things every time.

Also, is there a way to label or organize keys better in Kleopatra? It is starting to feel a bit cluttered & I would like a smoother workflow.

I ran into this while following a Python tutorial that mentioned signing scripts for security, which led me down this rabbit hole .

Also i have check this Multiple users 1 key still need help. Any tips or guidance would be awesome.

Thank you.

Hi @Anastasia,
your request is broad and because the python tutorial you’ve mentioned does not mention “signing”, I am not entirely sure you are a not an LLM that creates text to insert a link. (Thus I’ve redacted the link as a precaution.)

In Kleopatra you can just select a different signing key when signing. If you set different user ids for your pubkeys, you can add comment there, so you can see “work” or “personal” and easily recognize the one you need.

Best Regards,
Bernhard
