About the use of data in the forum
Participation in the forum
A user account is necessary for participation in the forum and serves to identify forum participants.
Your e-mail address will not be published. We use this to
- inform you about posts, messages and other activities in the forum. You can choose in your account settings which events you want to be contacted about.
- offer you the possibility to reset your password
- to inform you in exceptional circumstances about your account.
All other information except your username is optional. You can delete it at any time.
The user account can be made completely anonymous at any time in the user settings.
Visiting the forum
When you visit the forum, the data listed under “Cookies” and “Personal Information” is collected. This is done in the legitimate interest of the operator in order to:
- detect and diagnose technical errors
- strengthen the forum against abuse and attacks
- collect statistics about the forum and its sub-sections, which helps us to identify and focus on the most relevant topics
- To optimize the use of the forum so that it is easy and quick to use.
- To optimize the design of the forum for the most frequently used browsers.
This data is not combined with other data sources. If illegal use becomes known, this data may be checked retrospectively. This data is necessary for the operation of the websites; the legal basis for its collection is Art. 6 I lit. f DSGVO.

Automated decisions
In order to combat spam (unwanted, mostly automated, and (disturbing) messages, e.g. advertisements), content is subjected to an automatic evaluation on the basis of which contributions may have to be checked by moderators before publication.
To prevent misuse of the forum, a certain “trust level” is calculated for a user account based on the activity in the forum.
Depending on the trust level, certain functions of the forum are available, e.g. uploading pictures.
Passing on data to third parties
The data is not passed on to third parties.
How secure is information about me?
To protect the security of your information, only a select group of employees are authorized to use the information provided.
We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in connection with the collection, storage and disclosure of our customers’ personal information.

TLS encryption
This site uses TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of all content. If TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Information, deletion, blocking
As a data subject, you have the right to request information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipient, and the purpose of processing your data at any time. You have the right to have this data corrected, blocked or deleted, taking into account any existing legal obligations to retain data.
A copy of all stored data can be created and downloaded in the user profile under Account > Export your data > Request Archive.

Complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that our processing of your personal data violates your rights.
