64 bit gpgOL installation

Hello,

I am running on Windows 8 64-bit. I have installed the current version of gpg4win. Upon Outlook 2010 startup I cannot find any information about the add-in. The manual has instructions for Outlook 2003.

I did find the add-in registration area under file->options->addins. gpgOL was not listed at all. I attempted to manually load the addin while in this same addin option area. I browsed to C:\Program Files (x86)\GNU\GnuPG and selected gpgol.dll and hit “OK”. I get a popup that says:

“C:\Program Files (x86)\GNU\GnuPG\gpgol.dll” is not a valid office addin.

Is there a trick to enabling the addin in Outlook 2010?

Thanks in advance!

The trick for enabling the GpgOL Outlook plugin for me on 64-bit Windows 8: I just ran
C:\Program Files (x86)\GNU\GnuPG\kbuildsycoca4.exe and
C:\Program Files (x86)\GNU\GnuPG\kleopatra.exe
through the compatibility wizard in Windows 8. It offers to remember the compatibility settings for these files in the future as well. That way I was finally able to get GpgOL to run and function.

Changed the compatibility settings and still the same behavior. My outlook doesn’t see the dll as a valid add-in.

I installed the Outlook Privacy Plugin and it was recognized immediately.
