Yubikey 5 NFC which Pin is it looking for?

Hello,

I recently installed gpg4win + kleopatra.

When performing things like changing the Cardholder name, it asks for a PIN first.
Which PIN is it asking for? The normal pin I’ve set? The default pin to the yubikey, the pin for PIV?

I’ve tried numerous pins and they all say “bad pin”.

Yet if I access my yubikey via command prompt and verify my pins there, they all work fine.

Hello,

did you find out which Pin you should use? If you need help with Yubikey you could try out the mailing list gpg4win-users (https://lists.wald.intevation.org/mailman/listinfo/gpg4win-users-en/) or gnupg-users(https://lists.gnupg.org/mailman/listinfo/gnupg-users).

Greetings,
Christoph

Default User Pin is : 123456
Default Admin Pin is : 12345678

change them after first setup

Also with new firmware, if you want to use your Yubikey with OpenPGP you have to set a a PIN with minimum 8-digit pin, everything less will not work.

Best regards

Hi Igor, which firmware version do you refer to?

I am not aware of an issue for the Yubikey card firmware 5.7.1 where the minimum PIN length for the “normal user” PIN is 8 instead of the usual 6.

Please provide information on how to replicate this.
