Hi all,
I installed gpg4win 2.1.1 with Kleopatra, context WindowsXP and Oo 4.0.0. When I sign an .odt document from Kleopatra, I get a new extra file with same name as original and extension .odt.sig , and message “signing process OK”. Fine ! But seen from Oo, the document is not signed… And if I want to sign it from Oo, it won’t see my certificate
. Is it an issue of X509 versus pgp or some ? I guess gpg4win can’t build X509, can it ? Or the problem is completly another one ? Please alight me ! Thanks
Yeah, openoffice uses X509 signatures and that .odt.sig is a pgp signature.
OK thanks for this confirmation. So my document is signed but I’m the only one to know it ! :-)))
“So my document is signed but I’m the only one to know it !”
No. When you transmit your document to someone, just attach also the “.odt.sig” file. The recipient will be able to check the odt using the sig file.
When you ask Kleopatra to verify “my-file.odt” it will look in the same directory for the signature file “my-file.odt.sig”. If it finds it, it’ll use it to perform verification.
