Got a message from Kleoptra telling me I havent changed my passphrase since 1/14/2025 and that I needed to update it, I changed it, and it still keeps telling me I need to change it. I tried once again changing it, still getting nagged to change it… any fix to this ?
Hi,
Kleopatra doesn’t have such a message. Is it maybe telling you that your certificate is expired and that its validity period needs to be extended?
While tobias is right, Kleo does not have such a message but GnuPG does due to,… corporate policies,… ugh
in Kleoptra → Settings → GnuPG System under password “expire the passphrase after N days” is likely set to a low value by accident.
If you have not set this by accident and an admin has set that, you can run “gpgconf -X” in CMD to see where this is coming from.
Set this to 0 and the message should be gone at least after you do “tools → Restart background processes”
