I decided to upgrade from the previous version gpg4win v4.4.0 to the current gpg4win v5.0.1.
However I don’t want to install gpg4win permanently but use it in portable mode.
Unfortunately as far I can see there is no portable package of v5.* gpg4win
So according to instructions for previous v4.4.0 I
1.) installed v5.0.1 on my Windopws 10 system
2.) copied all files from this installation to empty USB flash drive
3.) created an empty file "gpgpconf.ctl in “bin” subdirectory
4.) created am empty “home” sub folder
This worked for v4.4.0 but not in v5.0.1
I get error/warning popups similar to:
“The Kleopatra Windows Explorer Module could not be initialialized”
“Could not determine the GnuPG home directory.”
“Consider settings the GNUPGHOME environment variable”
“TRy reinstalling”
Hmm, whats wrong?
How do I set temporarily the GNUGHOME env variable?
Is there a manual step-by-step instruction list on how to make gwg4win really portable?
