Hi!
I’m using Gpg4win 2.3.3 with MS Outlook 2013. I can see that GpgOL plugin has ability to encrypt the plain text body of a message and to encrypt attachments you add to a message.
But it seems the plugin is not able to encrypt the whole message with its attachments - which is possible for example with Enigmail add-on for Mozilla Thunderbird as Enigmail supports PGP/MIME (RFC 3156). Such a message has the following line in its header:
Content-Type: multipart/encrypted; protocol=“application/pgp-encrypted”;
On the other hand, such PGP/MIME encrypted messages can be successfully decrypted with GpgOL.
Are there any plans to improve the GpgOL so that it supports PGP/MIME while encrypting messages?

Hi,
Yes. We are currently working on it. If you open the options (the small corner icon in the bottom right corner of the gpgol tab) There is an option “Enable simplified interface (experimental)”
After a restart gpgol will be reduced to two buttons sing / encrypt in the “New Mail” tab (no own GpgOL tab anymore). This will send PGP/MIME by default and automatically decrypt mails when they are viewed.
Alterantively you can grab a Beta of Gpg4win-3.0 from where this is enabled by default.

(Where you also see a list of known issues why this is experimental)

Andre
I have enabled the simplified interface in Gpg4win 2.3.3 with (GpgOL 1.4.0). Now, when I try to send an encrypted message the Outlook 2013 crashes and the following error is logged in the Event Log:

Source: Application Error
Event ID: 1000
Task Category: (100)

In this regard, does anyone know if Gpg4win 3.0 beta is any better than ver. 2.3.3?

I’ve also tested Gpg4win 3.0.0beta187 (GpgOL 1.4.0). It has the same problem with sending an encrypted message: Outlook 2013 crashes and the following error is logged in the Event Log:

Sorry, overlooked your message last week.
I’ve replied to your mail gnupg-devel about this.
