GpgEX won't install

I have 2 machines running 64-bit Windows 8.1. Both have Gpg4win 2.2.1.

One machine that had a fresh install of Gpg4win 2.2.1 runs GpgEX fine. The context menu shows up in Windows Explorer and I can encrypt/decrypt files that way with no problem.

The other machine has been progressively updated with newer versions of Gpg4win. This machine’s Windows Explorer menu will not show GpgEX.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Gpg4win repeatedly. I don’t get the GpgEX menus like the other machine. I have used the Windows uninstaller each time.

Any suggestions?

You can try cleaning out the registry for keys related to Gpg4win.

Deleting the obvious registry keys named GPG4win and GPG didn’t fix the issue with GpgEX installing. Might there be other keys that I missed?

Maybe there is an old version of Gpgex around or registered with the explorere somewhere?
(The old versions used to be 32 bit only, so they did not run in the 64bit explorer.)

I’m just guessing, but of course, there must be a difference between the two installations.
