Freeze that occurs in a Windows 10 and Outlook 365 environment

Hello
We are using the latest software (GPG4.4.0).
Outlook freezes frequently after updating, have any other users reported similar issues?
This occurs frequently when replying to or forwarding emails.
environment
Windows 10
Outlook365 ver2410
GPG4.4.0

Hello Kei,

I am not aware of any issues caused by the current update and there were only small changes in GpgOL.

Did you update from the version 4.3.1 or an older one? If so, which one?

Thank you for your answer.

I Updated from version 4.3.1.

Currently, the issue has been resolved by reverting to 4.3.1.
Given that there have been no other reports of this, is it likely that this is an environmental factor?

It is likely that is a contributing factor.
Very often GpgOL issue arise because other COM-AddIns are in the mix. So it could be that something changed which only causes issues if you have certain AddIns.
Which other Outlook Add-Ins are installed in your case?

It would be helpful also if you could better define the conditions under which this occurred.

Did it freeze consistently for certain mails?
Were the mails you wanted to forward/reply to encrypted and signed or only one of those? Was your reply/forwarding signed&encrypted or only one of those?
Any other patterns?

Hi

I got the similar problem, Outlook have no response and need to restart the outlook while send encrypted email.

1.Fault symptom: Outlook freezes while send or read encrypted email.
environment:
Windows 10
Outlook 2016
Gpg4win4.4.0

2.Fault symptom: Outlook freezes while send encrypted email, read encrypted email normal.
environment:
Windows 10
Outlook 2016
Gpg4win4.3.1 (The same laptop with Fault 1, downgraded the GPG version)

3.Send and read encrypted email normal.
environment:
Windows 11 pro
Outlook365
Gpg4win4.4.0

Thanks.

Hi @malik.li for you the same question is relevant that @eebb asked above: Have you any Add-Ins installed for Outlook?

What if you remove Gpg4win completely and then install Gpg4win 4.3.1?

Here is my Add-Ins list:

Yes, what i said downgraded actually is removed Gpg4win 4.4.0 completely and then installed 4.3.1

The Add-Ins should be okay. What you could try is to enable logging in the settings of GpgOL then read/send an encrypted email and when Outlook freezes see if there are suspicious entries in the log file. Maybe you could also try different log levels.
